CURIOUS TO KNOW MORE ABOUT JESUS?
God loves you!
God loves you. His love goes further and deeper than any kind of love we can experience or understand.
The problem
From the moment we are born we all start to do things that are wrong, from taking toys away from another child as a toddler, through to not obeying our parents and eventually to having selfish thoughts that often lead to making wrong choices. The Bible has a term for this: sin. Our choices have consequences and sometimes these affect ourselves, sometimes they affect our friends and family and some have serious consequences on society. Regardless of our past it is important to realise that whatever our age, gender, abilities, skills or status in society we all have wrong thoughts and we all make wrong choices. Jesus message is that no one of us is any better than another.
Our selfish choices not only have consequences on those around us, they also prevent us from having a relationship with God who made us. God is love and selfishness in any form has no place with Him. When we eventually die therefore if nothing changes we will be separated from God forever. We were made to be with God and the Bible tells us that being separated from God is torment physically, mentally and spiritually.
The solution
So that we can be with God, our selfishness needs to be put to death. We cannot do this ourselves. God therefore became a perfect man, Jesus, and took all of the physical, mental and spiritual torment upon himself and put selfishness and all of our wrongs to death, when He was nailed to a cross. Jesus was tormented and died so that we can be forgiven and made right with God again.
That’s how much God loves you. It doesn’t matter what you have done, the love that sent Jesus to the cross can, and will forgive you. If you accept His forgiveness he takes away your sin and the consequences your thoughts and actions deserve.
The victory
But the story doesn’t end there. After Jesus was buried for 3 days, he became alive once again. He defeated not only the wrong things we think and do, He even defeated death. Everything that is not perfect has been defeated and lost its power. Through Jesus we can be forgiven, we can receive healing from our sicknesses and can have a living relationship with God. There is nothing in your life that God cannot fix, there is nothing you have done that cannot be forgiven and nothing can separate you from His love.
The future
You are precious to God and he loves you so much that he was willing to give up everything for you so that you can be with Him.
If you want to ask ask for forgiveness from Jesus and begin a new relationship with God, a great way to start is to pray this simple prayer:
“Lord Jesus, I ask your forgiveness for my sins. Thank you for dying on the cross to pay the penalty for my sins. I believe you died for my sins and I receive you as my Savior and Lord. I invite you into my life and I want to follow you as my Savior and Lord.”
